*I am making the move to the U.K. in June 2017 and am seeking teaching and learning opportunities in London- particularly in project based learning.*
I am an early career teacher and a strong advocate for innovative teaching and learning practices including the Project Based Learning model. I have worked as an English teacher at Parramatta Marist High School in Sydney, Australia since 2014. I am passionate about giving my students the best education and experience of school through establishing rapport, designing authentic and meaningful projects and lessons, moving away from direct instruction and toward student-centered learning while embracing technology as a learning tool in the classroom. I hope to inspire and nurture a lifelong love of learning in my students with a particular focus on the power of the English language. I enjoy working closely with colleagues to adjust and modify content to suit the individual abilities of each student, particularly those with special needs and gifted/talented students. I am always willing to volunteer for extra-curricular activities such as debating and public speaking. I am always firm but fair in my behavior management strategies and follow the behavior expectations, guidelines and process of the school I am teaching at. I respond to constructive feedback well and am keen to learn more about effective teaching from other teachers around the world.
I think it is essential as a teacher to never become complacent or stagnant in our practice- education in the 21st century is continually developing and I am keen to grow and transform with it. I am excited to experience the education systems in a range of countries around the world and learn from them.
